Bring your family and your lawn chairs out to this year's "Jazz on the Ave"! This fun festival stretches along four blocks of Cecil B. Moore Avenue with a variety of activities for the whole family. Enjoy vendors, free health screenings, children's activities, food and two stages of live entertainment.
The festival will be hosted by Patty Jackson, Dyana Williams and Loraine Ballard Morril. The main stage will feature Jeff Bradshaw & Friends with Eric Roberson, Syleena Johnson and Elle Varner, as well as Suzanne Burgess, Le Mo, Vertical Current, Worldtown Sound System and Abstract Truth. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday, August 16.

Be one of the first to see the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' digital art projection. "Little Cheyenne Girl" by American Indian artist J. Nicole Nahmi-A-Piah was selected from a national call for artwork portraying the theme of Native American health.
Nahmi-A-Piah draws her inspiration from historical photographs of proud tribal women. In addition to the projection across from the SugarHouse Casino, the work will also be projected in other urban centers that have large Native American populations.

Have a bit of wanderlust? How about a staycation? The 29th Annual Caribbean Festival promises to bring authentic fashion, cuisine and music of 14 Caribbean islands to the Great Plaza. Enjoy reggae, roots international beat, soca, hip-hop, cool jazz, gospel and creative dances while exploring the neighboring market filled with Caribbean wares. Listen to poetry and skits, and watch creative on-stage dances. This is a family-friendly event.
