Classic Towns

A classic town is part Main Street America, part local culture. With so much well-preserved history, abundant natural resources and culture and dynamic downtown institutions, Greater Philadelphia provides a fertile landscape for dozens of classic towns. They are as old as Manayunk and Germantown. They provide cultural holidays, like a weekend in New Hope, or distinctive shopping like in West Chester. They are re-born when places like Ardmore on the Main Line print their own money to support its business district, or Phoenixville in Montgomery County restores its old movie theater. Classic towns have maintained their luster here, and shine anew for visitors and locals alike.
