Northeast

Depending on its definition, this section of the city is home for nearly a third of Philadelphia's population. Transportation is key here -- I-95 and Roosevelt Boulevard are the main arteries, SEPTA's Frankford El line includes the Frankford Transportation Center, and the city's other airport, Northeast Philadelphia Airport, is the sixth-busiest airport in the state. There's a little bit of everything in the Northeast -- Holy Family University represents higher education, while some communities in lower Northeast like Fishtown are creating gritty, urban destinations for young creatives. Innovative industrial parks have maintained the area's rich manufacturing history near the airport. Frankford, based around the Frankford Avenue commercial corridor, was Flying Kite's second On the Ground neighborhood.
