Duke & Winston kicks off the summer with a new line of casual, beach-inspired apparel, including tanks and tees featuring the East Coast's finest beaches -- like Avalon, Cape May and Ocean City, to name a few. DJ Royale provides the music and specialty beach drinks and appetizers will be served.

Pinto (1905-1966) was part of a Philadelphia-based family of artists that were collected by Albert C. Barnes, who awarded Pinto prizes to inspire his modernism through travels to Europe, Corsica and Africa. Woodmere Director/CEO William Valerio talks about the artist (whose work, Summer Beach Scene, is pictured at top), his work and Pinto as a trans-Atlantic link between Philadelphia and European modernism.

The first city-wide points contest for skateboarders in four age divisions (12 and under, 13-15, 16-18 and all ages) goes off at
Pop's and will benefit building and maintaining skateparks in Philadelphia. This is the first of four skate competitions organized by
Franklin's Paine and
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation through October.
