If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. That's largely the idea behind the triple album release show on Thursday at
World Cafe Live that features some of Greater Philadelphia's most promising and respected musical acts.
Up the Chain,
Hezekiah Jones and
Joe D'Amico combine for the local acoustic community's super-bill. Show starts at 8 p.m. and is downstairs at World Cafe (3025 Walnut St., Philadelphia).
Up the Chain (pictured) is led by Ardmore native and South Philly resident Reed Kendall, and the new album is called Holy, Open, Drying Road. Hezekiah Jones is a collection of some of the region's top musicians led by Raphael Cutrufello and will be releasing Have You Seen Our New Fort. Joe D'Amico similarly surrounds himself with some of Philly's finest folksters, who will be supporting his new album, Asleep in My Shoes.
D'Amico's father, pianist Francis D'Amico, will perform during a pre-show happy hour from 7-8 p.m. with a special appearance from Michigan singer/songwriter Chris Bathgate. Get your tickets
