ON THE GROUND: Second Friday on Lancaster Ave Is Reborn

Nearly 30 businesses participated in the most-anticipated Second Friday on Lancaster Ave. in some time, putting merchandise, locals and visitors onto the sidewalks from the 3500 block through 4300 on July 13.
Face-painting, live music, sidewalk sales and free hot dogs helped bring life to a corridor in search of momentum, spirit and collaboration, hoping to restore a once-great district to its former lively and indispensible state. Groups including Flying Kite, Lancaster Avenue 21st Century Business Association, People's Emergency Center (PEC) and Drexel University are helping revive the effort.
Stay connected with Flying Kite for more details on Second Friday on Lancaster Ave. on Aug. 10, which will be our last opportunity to celebrate as part of our On the Ground initiative. It's going to be even more special than last weekend.
