How do you measure your jeans?
Maybe you don't, because you've always bought them off the sale rack, paying attention to three numbers -- waist, inseam and price.
The guys at
Norman Porter Company exist to make measurements matter. The denim and leather goods company from Fishtown, brought to life by Michael Stampler, David Stampler and John Mahaffy and named for the Stamplers' grandfather, a mechanical engineer from Perkasie, makes jeans and bags the old-fashioned way. Just last month they moved to a new studio at 2628 Martha St. at the
Hatchatory building.
