While most folks were checking off items on their holiday shopping list, about a hundred bicycle enthusiasts were navigating makeshift ramps and a teeter-totter in an Olney junkyard on Dec. 19 as part of a one-of-a-kind annual event organized by the gritty and groovy gang at Bilenky Cycleworks.

Bilenky, which has been dropping "artistry in steel" in North Philly since 1983, does an impressive job of getting people to get excited about a junkyard in winter and assembling all the obstacles that meet the cyclists.
