Young Involved Philadelphia is hosting its fifth annual State of Young Philly, an event that seeks to engage and empower young Philadelphians by helping them become better equipped to create change. Over the course of a week, various workshops and events will be held city-wide covering a range of topics from writing to diversity to mentoring. The series kicks off on Friday, November 14 with the Civic Engagement Fair at Impact Hub Philly from 6 - 8 p.m. Connect with over 30 organizations and find new ways to get involved!

Looking for a chance to prove your storytelling skills? Check out Moth StorySLAM's open-mic storytelling competition! All you need is a great story, or the ability to turn a common anecdote into an instant classic -- you'll have five minutes to captivate listeners. Contestants are chosen from storyteller hopefuls who have placed their name in The Moth "hat." 10 names will be drawn and given the opportunity to face off.
