It's time for this year's Philly Stake, an annual event that fosters attention and support for projects that improve local communities. As always, the picnic dinner will feature seasonal ingredients from regional farms and purveyors. Proposals will be presented at the dinner and voted on by attendees. Spread over 20 Philly neighborhoods, POST offers a unique chance to visit over 270 artist studios, gallery exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops. Studios east of Broad Street will be open October 3rd and 4th; studios west of Broad Street the 17th and 18th. 

POST is a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, which coordinates a strong regional support system for visual artists and fosters an understanding of visual art within the community.

Planting a Forest Closing Reception

Join the Painted Bride for a special First Friday closing reception of their "Planting a Forest" exhibit. All of the photos and stories in the exhibit were submitted by community members who wished to share tree memories. They were asked to share photos of memorable trees from their lives and the stories of why it is special to them. This project was done in partnership with TreePhilly.org.
