"Between Worlds"

Future Sensations
Through Saturday, June 6
The Oval, 2451 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

Explore a sensory journey of science, storytelling and art across five different immersive pavilions. The exhibit was created by Saint-Gobain, one of the largest building material companies in the world, to celebrate its 350th anniversary. The experience draws on the long history of the company while also looking at the innovations that will shape that future. This stop in Philadelphia is one of only four on the exhibit's global tour; other stops include Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Paris.

Monument Lab Lunch Dialogue Series
Through Sunday, June 7
Noon - 1 p.m.
City Hall
Free

If you haven't passed it already, be sure to check out the Monument Lab at City Hall. The lab is a research project exploring public art -- it aims to discover what an appropriate monument for modern Philly would look like. A pavilion located at City Hall serves as an innovative, urban research center. Here you'll find discussion on the city led by artists and thinkers. During the course of the exhibit, the topic of a modern monument will be explored via dialogue, art installations, public events and community-sourced maps.

Explore distant lands with Walter Francis Elling's "Between Worlds" exhibit. The show is a photo-montage drawn from an extensive collection of 15,000 photographs he has taken around the world. The images delve into boundaries between global cultures and religions, looking at Thai Buddhas, Christian saints, graffiti-adorned skyscrapers and Cambodian killing fields. East and west meet with the past and present in this exhibit.
