Join the Philadelphia Center for Architecture in celebrating Jan Gehl, the 2016 recipient of the Edmund N. Bacon Award. 2016 is a special year as it is the 10th anniversary of the award and the program. Gehl is the founding partner of
Gehl Architects and has spent his career advocating for the design of active, healthy, inclusive places. Gehl will be joined in his talk by
Philadelphia Inquirer architecture critic, Inga Saffron. Additionally, the winners of the
2016 Better Philadelphia Challenge will be honored. This year's contest focused the on Mantua and Belmont neighborhoods.

Cadence Community Bike Build

Help build bikes for various bicycling organizations at the second annual Bike Build. Fuji, Breezer and SE have donated 100 bikes that need to be put together. Benefiting organizations include
Neighborhood Bike Works,
Philly Pump Track,
Gearing Up
and
Cadence Youth Cycling (which is part of the
Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia). Enjoy food and drinks while helping out these great organizations. Breezer Bikes is also bringing the "Pope Bike" they designed for Pope Francis.
