Community Art-Making Day for Dawn's Place

Paint the face of a woman you love and donate it to be displayed in a public art installation at Dawn's Place. The installation represents community support for those in Dawn's place, as well as all survivors of human trafficking. Don't worry about your art skills! If you want to show your support, supplies and instruction are available for all skill levels and ages. If you cannot attend the event, you may submit your painting by February 22.

Lincoln's Birthday Tour

Come visit the birthplace of Abe Lincoln's first biography! In the basement of the Lincoln Building, Lincoln's first biography was published during his presidential campaign. Tours of the historic building will take place throughout the day; guides will explain the significance of the biography, as well as the history of the building itself. Once you're done with your tour, grab some tea or a quick snack at The Lincoln Room, located in the basement where the biography was published.

Ursula Rucker

If you're looking for an inspiring evening, head to Ursula Rucker's show. Rucker is a successful Philadelphia-born poet, activist and recording artist, known on both sides of "the pond". She has collaborated with artists such as The Roots, King Britt and Bahamadia. In this show, "My Father's Daughter," Rucker bares her soul in a live, epic poem accompanied by music and video imagery.
