Mt. Airy

One of the nation's first successfully integrated neighborhoods is still a model for diversity thanks to its central shopping district's small town feel, easy access to transportation and outdoor recreation and an active citizenry led by community development organization Mt. Airy, USA. Home to the innovative Weaver's Way Co-Op and one of the few remaining 1920s Art Deco movie theaters in the city, the Sedgwick, Mt. Airy has continued to make streetscape improvements, mixed-use and transit-oriented development and Germantown Avenue priorities.
